zoom whitening specials los angeles dtla labor day

Happy Labor Day! From all River Dentistry’s doctors and staff, we wish you a fun-filled long weekend! Enjoy your time out of the office, the travel, the food, and great time with family and friends. But also stay safe and do not try to open bottles or cans with your teeth!

Labor Day marks the non-official end to summer, but that doesn’t mean we have to stow away the barbecues, bathing suits, and beach towels since we live in Southern California. And we certainly don’t need to be afraid of or consider it a major faux pas to wear some white, especially when it comes down to our smiles!

The old-fashioned fashion rule about wearing white after the Labor Day does not apply to your teeth! We believe that you can and should wear a white smile during and after the holiday. Yes, when it comes to your pearly whites, good health and brilliant white color are always in style.

Labor Day 2016 Teeth Whitening

There’s nothing wrong with a small psychological boost that comes with beautiful white teeth if it makes you feel good and gives you additional confidence while not harming anything. After all, studies show that appearance of your teeth can affect your self-image and self esteem. Fortunately, there are many safe ways to whiten your teeth without causing harm to the enamel. At River Dentistry, we use two types of professional whitening procedures to enhance the whiteness of your smile.

Philips Zoom professional whitening system uses light-activated whitening gel the active ingredient of which is Hydrogen Peroxide. As the Hydrogen Peroxide gel is broken down, oxygen enters the enamel and dentin, bleaching colored substances while the structure of the tooth is unchanged. The Zoom light aids in activating Hydrogen Peroxide and helps it penetrate the surface of the tooth. A study has shown that use of the Zoom! lamp increases the effectiveness of the gel by 33%. It is a fast, effective and safe way to whiten your teeth. Results from Zoom treatment can be immediate (up to 8 shades whiter teeth in less than an hour!) and, because your dentist or certified dental assistant provide the treatment, the process is safe, reliable, and hassle-free.

Traditional professional custom bleaching trays used with Hydrogen Peroxide-based gels by several manufactures may take a little bit more time but they help to achieve similar teeth whitening results. However, bleaching trays require you to be very compliant in wearing them and require multiple applications for best results.

The difference between having your teeth professionally whitened and using an at-home kit is your end result. While professional whitening is not permanent and you’ll likely need to receive a new treatment every six months to a year, at-home treatments need to be repeated much more frequently to ensure that your teeth stay their whitest white.

And, to all of our loyal PPO patients who take regular care of their teeth and complete recommended treatment plan, we offer our Lifetime Free Whitening program to keep their teeth bright and white – even after Labor Day! Ask your dentist or our office staff at your next appointment to learn more and don’t forget to tell your friends about it, too.

Please note that our dental office will be closed next Monday for Labor Day holiday. We’ll open again with regular hours on Tuesday, September 6th. To make an appointment, please call us at 213-486-0006 or schedule your visit online today!
